Musicians perform with bands, choirs, orchestras, opera companies, and as solo artists. They deliver their performances in places such as concert halls, nightclubs, theatres and in film, television, and recording studios. Musicians often play a collaborative role with vocalists, filmmakers, and television producers and directors.

Typical tasks include live performance (performed solo or as part of group), and the ability to improvise and play songs and musical styles on demand.
