Illustrators create images for advertising, publications, packaging, posters, and corporate identities (logos and wordmarks). They also participate in diverse industries such as film, broadcast, animation, and web design.

Illustrators consult with clients (and in some cases, Graphic Designers) to determine their specific needs, in order to produce work that both meets their communication goals and is also visually appropriate. They prepare sketches, layouts, and develop final illustrations in both traditional and digital mediums.
