Website Designers produce the visual communication component of Internet and intranet sites. They are actively involved in the research, design, and development of these sites. Depending on their educational and skills background, they may also be part of the coding and scripting team of web design projects.

Website Designers consult with clients to determine their specific needs, in order to produce work that both meets their communication goals and is also technologically appropriate. They prepare sketches, layouts and develop graphic elements – carefully considering the projects hardware and software requirements.

They are employed by interactive design studios, software development firms, information technology consulting firms, and information technology departments in both the public and private sectors.
