Actor : Music and Sound : Artist

Actors perform roles in theatre, musical, television, radio and film productions. Their discipline requires the memorization and rehearsing of lines and the study of gestures and movements to interpret a role. Actors may also sing or dance as required by specific productions.

Other tasks include comedy; performed solo or as part of troupe, and the ability to improvise and create characters and scenarios on demand. An actors most prized talent is their abilities to convey the complete depth of the human experience through their words and actions. Talent and demonstrated ability via the audition process are the keys to employability in this field.

Actors are employed by the theatre, musical, television, radio and film industries. Jobs may range from as short as a few minutes or hours (voice-over and commercial work) to many weeks and months (film, television, and theatre).
