Projectionist : Music and Sound : Technician

Projectionists are responsible for inspecting projection equipment prior to screening and for ensuring film reels are in good condition. They set up and load film reels on movie and drive-in theatre projections systems. They install and connect auxiliary equipment, such as microphones, amplifiers, disc playback machines, and lights. They adjust focus and sound levels ensuring sound and image projection quality are accurate.

In addition, Projectionists are responsible for the regular maintenance of machinery such as cleaning lenses and lubricating moving parts. They manage minor repairs to equipment such as replacing worn parts.

Projectionist are employed by drive-in and cinema movie theatres.
