Accountants are employed by auditing and accounting firms throughout the private and public sectors, or they may be self-employed.

      Accountants require a formal education and certification through a regulating body such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Manitoba, the Certified General Accountants Association or the Certified Management Accountants of Manitoba. A university degree (management or commerce is preferred) or college diploma and/or related work experience may be required for entry into a program of studies.
