Music Programmers are responsible for the music programming of a radio or television station. They recruit and train staff and volunteers and ensure the quality and content of the programming adheres to federal broadcast regulations and station policies and principles.
Amongst their responsibilities, the Music Programmer is an active member of the programming or steering committee and maintains a dialogue with music programming staff. They organize promotional events such as on air giveaways and fund-raisers as well as maintain and develop databases of information including programming logs and organization contacts.
